Gary Cee

Gary’s career started when he and three friends, got together and formed a Rock and Roll band ‘Gary Cee And The Cruisers’.  They covered all the great Rock & Roll Classics and with Gary’s superb guitar playing performed many of the Shadows instrumentals, although the highlight of the show was always when Gary donned his Rhinestone suit to perform one of the best Elvis Presley impersonations in the U.K.  Their popularity soon grew and they became one of the top bands touring the Rock and Roll circuit, performing alongside such artists as Shakin’ Stevens, Screaming Lord Sutch, Matchbox, Dave Berry, Jet Harris and Freddy Fingers Lee.   It was during this time that they cut a single, ‘Time tells no lies / Reaching out for love’ both sides written by Gary.

Over the next few years Gary Cee and the Cruisers performed various circuits throughout the U.K. including Parkhurst and Albany high security prisons on the Isle of Wight and culminating in the Plymouth Theatre Royal where they became the first local band to headline at the Drum performing two sell out nights.  Their manager at the time was so impressed by Gary’s Elvis impersonation that she sent a video performance of it to Ceasers Palace in Las Vegas and was very surprised when they said they would like to audition Gary in person to perform in one of their bars.

When members of the band decided to go their own way.  Gary decided to pursue a solo career and was soon performing at Hotels, Social Clubs and Public houses, from London to Lands End.  He had dropped the Elvis impersonation in order to expand his musical horizons and became one of the most sought after cabaret performers in the South West, playing once again along side such legendary performers as Marty Wilde, The Merseybeats and Hermans Hermits.  He released the very popular album entitled ‘Let’s Dance’ to coindide with his first tour of Norway which was so successful that a second tour followed the next year, but deciding that it would be nicer to perform in a warmer climate he then performed in the Canary Islands as well as throughout the UK.

After being a top professional entertainer for many years Gary still  regularly packs venues of all types, and is now renowned for his superb Tom Jones Tribute as well as  a wide repertoire of songs  spanning over  six decades.
